When everyone in our community pulls together, we have the power to do great things. By sharing our collective ideas and expertise as well as our financial resources, we’re making Allen County an even better place to live—for now and forever.
Turn your ideas into action.
Initiatives that engage our community.
The Community Foundation partners with local community leaders from the private, public, and nonprofit sectors to seek innovative and effective solutions to community-wide issues.
We work to better understand:
- Our community’s needs and priorities
- Where there are opportunities for innovative solutions that build upon best practices
- Who has the expertise and capacity to affect real and lasting change
We also make strategic investments of both time and grant dollars in addressing community-wide priorities.
The result? Initiatives the whole community can get behind.
Riverfront Fort Wayne – Our citizens have embraced the potential of developing the riverfront in downtown Fort Wayne to improve the quality of life for everyone in Northeast Indiana. In May of 2016 we announced that we had reached our stage-one goal of raising $3 million of initial funding for riverfront development efforts.
CHIP (Community Health Improvement Plan) – The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne has provided assistance to Dr. McMahan and the volunteers who developed the CHIP program. We will continue to support these efforts in the future, as we work together to improve the health of all of our children.
