Chief Operating Officer
“There are many things I enjoy about working at the Community Foundation – seeing the difference the Community Foundation makes in the community through the nonprofit organizations we support, the transformational impact of scholarship awards on students who likely wouldn’t have the opportunity to attend college, the families we have the privilege of helping with their legacies, and the Community Foundation staff – we truly have the very best people on the Foundation team.” – Heidi Ludwig, Chief Operating Officer
Heidi Ludwig, Chief Operating Officer, joined the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne in October 1998. When Heidi joined the Community Foundation her position was newly created to focus on the finances of the Community Foundation. Since then her position has changed to encompass not only accounting and investments, but also human resources, technology and operational functions of the Community Foundation. Heidi enjoys playing a part in many different areas of the Community Foundation.
Heidi has her BS in Business Management from Ball State University. She has substantial background in finance and management. She was the Finance Director at Science Central for six years, starting out before the Science Central facility was renovated. During this time she actually shared office space with the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne and was able to see firsthand the impact the Community Foundation was having in the community. That was her first introduction to the Community Foundation. Now Heidi has been at the Community Foundation for 20 years and was recognized as a CFO of the Year Honoree in 2015 by Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly. She currently serves as Board Chair for Common Grace Ministries and volunteers with her husband to teach Dave Ramsey Financial Peace classes at her Church.
Heidi has been married to her husband Rick for over two decades now! They have two wonderful children, Lexi and Ryan. Heidi has lived her whole life within the same quarter of a mile radius on property that has been in her family for over 60 years. If Heidi isn’t enjoying a sporting event, activities with her family, or flower gardening then you can find her walking her dog, Diva, that she rescued from the local pet rescue organization.
