Melissa Francis, Children’s Health Collaborative Intern, joined the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne team in May of 2022. She is responsible for assisting the Children’s’ Health Collaborative Director with advancing CHC initiatives in Allen County.
Melissa is currently attending the University of Saint Francis (USF) and is majoring in Biology, Pre-Med. She is an active leader of the pre-professional health society at USF and plays for the university’s golf team. In addition to being an active student, Melissa also volunteers her time on the Children’s Health Collaborative Advisory Committee, which is how she became aware of the CHC internship. After graduation, she plans to pursue a master’s or Ph.D. in public health as well as attend medical school to become a family physician.
Melissa is a Fort Wayne native. Her father is from Boston, MA and her mother is from Thailand so she has spent a lot of time traveling. Some of the countries she has explored are Italy, Mexico, Thailand, and Greece. Outside of traveling, Melissa also likes to spend time her friends and golf.
