Community Foundation Awarded more than $640,000 in Grants this Quarter!

September 24, 2018 – Fort Wayne, IN – The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne awarded community impact grants to 25 nonprofit agencies serving Allen County in the 3rd quarter of 2018. The funding infused more than $640,000 of general operating support into local nonprofits undertaking our community’s most critical work. Recipients included


Amani Family Services ($25,000) – Immigrant and refugee support services;

Associated Churches of Fort Wayne Indiana ($35,000) – Services for priority needs in the community;

Blue Jacket ($15,000) – Vocational training and employment services for disadvantaged;

Cancer Services of Northeast IN ($35,000) – Client advocate and client services program;

Early Childhood Alliance ($40,000) – Early care and education;

Erin’s House for Grieving Children ($25,000) – Grief support services;

Fort Wayne Sexual Assault Treatment Center ($35,000) – Forensic care to victims of sexual assault;

Fort Wayne Ballet ($20,000) – Outreach and arts programs as well as the Ballet’s performances;

Fort Wayne Children’s Choir ($7,500) – Afterschool music education;

Fort Wayne Dance Collective ($15,000) – Dance and dance education programs;

Fort Wayne Medical Society Foundation ($25,000) – Healthier Moms and Babies

Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation ($15,000) – Safe Haven with the Fort Wayne Police Department;

Fort Wayne Philharmonic Orchestra ($30,000) – Arts and arts education programs;

Fort Wayne Public Television WFWA PBS39 ($15,000) – Local arts and public affair programs;

Harlan Christian Youth Center ($10,000) – Youth development programs;

Headwaters Counseling ($20,000) – Programs to develop healthy relationships;

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Fort Wayne d/b/a Just Neighbors ($35,000) – Emergency housing for families in Allen County;

Little River Wetlands Project ($10,000) – Restore and protect wetlands;

Matthew 25 ($50,000) – Healthcare services to uninsured, low income residents of Allen County;

Northeast Indiana Positive Resource Connection ($35,000) – Care coordination, education, and medical clinic;

Power House Youth Center ($10,000) – Youth programs;

Respect360 d/b/a Respect Team ($5,000) – Youth programs;

Science Central ($33,000) – Science, technology, engineering, and math education programs;

Wellspring Interfaith Social Services ($50,000) – Youth after school and summer day camp programs;

YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne ($45,000) – Renaissance Pointe YMCA’s after school and summer learning programs, and the Youth Services Bureau’s Status Offender Court Alternative Program.
