“But I Won’t Ask for Money!” – Understanding the Board’s Role in Fundraising

When one person, like a fundraising staff member, is the only one responsible for philanthropy within an organization, they often burn out or leave for a more supportive environment. The solution? Engage more staff and volunteers in fundraising!

Unfortunately, over half of all board chairs and executive directors identify fundraising as one of the most important areas for board improvement. Many board members express confusion over their roles and responsibilities in the fundraising effort, and even have resistance toward asking. What to do?

Please join us Wednesday, July 19 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at the Community Foundation for a presentation from Jen Pendleton, CFRE, Vice President Aly Sterling Philanthropy on how to engage your board in fundraising. This dynamic training will include:

  1. Share information about board members’ roles and responsibilities for the organization’s financial stability
  2. Provide principles of fundraising that can be immediately personalized and applied by board members, staff and volunteers
  3. Specific philanthropic engagement skills that any board member can immediately put into practice – even if they don’t like to ask!

Seating is limited, please click here to RSVP. Please note each person attending will have to RSVP individually.
