GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
As Chief Executive Officer, the President/CEO is responsible for; management and oversight of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne’s operations including development, donor services, financial stewardship, marketing, community investment and leadership initiatives; setting the strategy to achieve the organizational vision, as set by the Board of Directors; shaping the Community Foundation’s role as civic leader, grantmaker, philanthropic partner and charitable giving vehicle; acting as chief spokesperson for the Community Foundation.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
The right candidate must possess exceptional organizational leadership skills as might be demonstrated by a minimum of seven years of experience leading an organization or operation. Additionally, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a job-related discipline is required. The incumbent’s experience should include work on developing and implementing strategic, tactical and operational plans, solving complex business issues, and successfully managing a staff in fulfilling the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Incumbent must possess impeccable credentials with regard to integrity, trust, and working in the best interest of others, particularly as it relates to donor relations. Strong experience in a position requiring exceptional interpersonal and public relations skills in necessary, as is the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must possess a strong track record of working effectively with staff, committees, volunteers, boards, and a wide variety of constituencies, as well as demonstrated consensus-building experience. Candidate should possess broad knowledge of the communities served by the Foundation in addition to experience in working with and/or for non-profit organizations. Incumbent must possess a strong knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial analysis in order to effectively oversee the management of the Foundation’s assets. Candidate must also demonstrate strong knowledge of charitable and planned giving vehicles and the laws and regulations relative to the field. Strong verbal communication skills, as might be demonstrated by public speaking experience, are required as are strong written communication skills, as might be demonstrated by a variety of writing samples. Must be experienced in working effectively with minimal day-to-day direction, demonstrating the ability to establish and achieve goals in a timely and effective manner. Demonstrated experience in conducting detailed research, as well as the ability to effectively utilize a personal computer for a variety of research, organizational, and communication activities is required. Candidate must be willing to frequently participate in community events, sometimes requiring evening and weekend work.
