Women’s Fund Hosts Girl-Centered Practice Training Workshop

At the end of June, the Women’s Fund hosted a 3-day training workshop in Girl-Centered Practice Training for 15 participants. This educational program is designed to enhance the skills of professionals who work with girls and young women, especially those who have experienced trauma or are involved in the juvenile justice system.

The training a partnership with the Delores Barr Weaver Policy Center focuses on creating supportive environments that elevate the experiences and voices of girls, foster leadership skills, and promote safety and dignity. It included interactive activities, group discussions, lectures, and personal reflection to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.

This training is beneficial for anyone involved with girl-serving organizations. It equips participants with the skills to create strategic plans, develop performance systems, and advocate for policies that improve outcomes for girls.

The workshop is part of the Women’s Fund Young Women and Girls Focus Area. It reflects the commitment to empowering young women and ensuring they receive the support and resources needed to thrive.
