Community Impact Grant Helps Cancer Services Grow Impact

Here at the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne, we are very proud to be able to give grants from our amazing Community Impact Fund. This fund is comprised of contributions from many different awesome donors in our community. We want to share with you some of the coolest success stories that came from grants we made through the Community Impact fund!

This story comes from the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana who received a Community Impact grant of $30,000 for their Client Advocate and Client Services programs. Cancer Services’ mission is to enhance the quality of life of those affected by cancer by providing resources, information, and compassionate assistance.

This grant gave Cancer Services the ability to ensure their organization could provide high quality programs and services to help those fighting cancer. With the Community Foundation as a funding partner, Cancer Services has operational support that enables them to give their clients the most pleasant experience possible during such a challenging (and often scary) time in their lives.

The grant dollars provided by the Community Impact Fund allows Cancer Services to continuously grow, develop, and empower civic action and pride. Cancer Services seeks to emulate these actions by ensuring their programs empower their members to the fullest extent. In May of 2017, one of the new hires at Cancer services was able to attend a Fundraising for Small Non-Profits seminar with the help of the Community Foundation!

Cancer Services is thankful not only for the operational support our grant dollars provide, but also for the quality training and professional development resources the Community Foundation offers. Our commitment to providing high quality resources and training support for local nonprofits helps to ensure they are continuously informed with best practice information and have access to staff education and support.
