#GivingTuesday 2017 – H.O.P.E. for Animals

For #GivingTuesday 2017, H.O.P.E. for Animals was one of the four recipients of the Community Foundation’s  surprise #GivingTuesday gifts. We recently checked in with them to see if they had anything to say about last year’s gift. Here’s what they had to say:

“We were so excited and felt so honored to be a recipient of the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne’s #GivingTuesday grant in 2017. We are a small nonprofit trying to make a big impact for both pets and people in our community. We have been very frugal with the grant because we knew we wanted to do something big with it. So, in November we are holding a Fall Community Cat special where it is only $10 for all Fort Wayne residents to get a community cat spayed/neutered here at H.O.P.E. and we are using the remainder of your grant and private donations to make this happen.

The Community Foundation grant is allowing us to help outdoor cats in our community that have been abandoned and left to fend for themselves. We are so thankful for the Community Foundations support, and so are all of the cats we were able to care for with this grant!” – Allison Miller, Executive Director

This year for #GivingTuesday we are doing the #GivingTuesdayFW Challenge. The Community Foundation is encouraging nonprofits to raise funds for their endowments held at the Community Foundation between October 19th and November 18th, 2018 at 11:59 pm.  The top raising nonprofit in each of our giving areas (Health & Human Services, Youth & Education, Arts & Culture, Community Development) will receive a surprise unrestricted gift from the Community Foundation on #GivingTuesday November 27th, 2018.
