Lilly Endowment Community Scholars

The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne is pleased to celebrate its 26th year hosting the Lilly Endowment Community Scholars program.  Eligible Allen County students must demonstrate overcoming obstacles, financial need, academic performance, community involvement, and a personal statement of goals. Five students are awarded this fantastic opportunity each school year.

On April 30th, we hosted a dinner for the 2023-24 Lilly Community Scholars at Quimby Hall. Joined by their families, friends, and counselors, the five 2023-24 recipients were honored in an evening of celebration. During dinner, students and staff mingled, discussing their upcoming academic journeys.

Caroline Fenker-Meyer, a 2012 Lilly Scholar, shared her inspiring college experience and offered advice on balancing academic success with self-care. Caroline, who earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy in 2022, now serves as an occupational therapist specializing in elder rehabilitation.

Also attending was Storm Brateen, a 2020 recipient, who celebrated her recent graduation from Indiana Wesleyan. Storm, now a social work graduate, plans to pursue a master’s degree in the fall while working locally. See the press release for more information on the latest list of Lilly Scholars.
