(December 27, 2018) Fort Wayne, IN – The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne awarded community impact grants to 17 nonprofit agencies serving Allen County in the 4th quarter of 2018. The funding infused more than $315,000 of general operating support into local nonprofits undertaking our community’s most critical work. Recipients included
Allen County Education Partnership ($10,000) – Literacy program for kindergarten through third grade children;
Allen County Fort Wayne Historical Society ($25,000) – K-12 student group tour visitation program;
ARCH Inc. ($10,000) – historic restoration, preservation, and planning;
Boys and Girls Club of Fort Wayne ($45,000) – Youth development programs;
Catholic Charities, Fort Wayne/South Bend Diocese ($25,000) – Mental health counseling;
Cornerstone Youth Center ($20,000) – Youth development programs for all youth in grades 7-12;
Crossroad Child & Family Services ($25,000) – Treatment services for at-risk children and their families;
East Wayne Street Center ($25,000) – Adult basic education;
Fort Wayne Civic Theatre ($40,000) – Community theatre for the 2018-2019 season;
Fort Wayne Trails ($10,000) – Partner and advocate for regional trails;
Headwaters Park Alliance Inc. ($10,000) – Ice Rink;
Indiana Dental Association Foundation ($10,000) – 2019 Indiana MOM Free Dental Clinic;
Inner City Hope Corporation d/b/a Miss Virginia’s Food Pantry ($20,000) – 2019 balanced and nutritional food program;
Kate’s Kart ($1,500) – Free new books to hospitalized children;
Soarin’ Hawk Raptor Rehabilitation Center ($5,000) – Rehabilitation services;
Volunteer Center @ RSVP ($25,000) – Volunteer community service program;
Unity Performing Arts Foundation, Inc. ($10,000) – Artistic training and youth development
