November 1, 2021 – Fort Wayne, IN – The Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne announces the start of the 2021 #GivingTuesdayFW Challenge. The #GivingTuesday FW Challenge is a nonprofit sustainability challenge for #GivingTuesday in an effort to help raise funds for nonprofit endowments. Starting Monday, November 1, 2021 and running through Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 11:59 pm, the Community Foundation challenges all nonprofits that hold endowment funds at the Community Foundation to raise money for their endowments to increase their own financial sustainability.

The Community Foundation will match gifts that are contributed to eligible funds by 20% and the four top-raising organizations (one in each giving area: Health & Human Services, Youth & Education, Arts & Culture, Community Development) will receive a surprise unrestricted gift from the Community Foundation on #GivingTuesday, November 30, 2021. To donate and to find a full list of nonprofits that hold endowment funds at the Community Foundation visit the website at www.cfgfw.org/become-a-donor/givingtuesday/.

In an additional effort to support nonprofit sustainability, the Community Foundation is also launching an annual giving day, Give Greater Allen County to be held on April 21, 2021. Give Greater Allen County is a one-day, 12-hour initiative that fosters individual philanthropy in Allen County, Indiana and hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne. During this day of giving, the Community Foundation will use the power of community to encourage individuals and businesses to support the nonprofits and causes they’re passionate about and who make impact in our community each and every day. Together, our donations will address the needs of the community by providing financial resources that affect lasting change.

Nonprofits can begin registering now and have until March 14, 2022 to register. Eligible nonprofits must serve Allen county and be a 501(c)3. For more information about Give Greater Allen County or to register your nonprofit visit givegreaterallen.com.

”We are very excited to not only continue our annual #GivingTuesdayFW Challenge for its fourth year, but to also launch a new annual giving day to lift up individual philanthropy and support all of the great charitable work that is happening throughout our community,” said Alison Gerardot, Vice President of Philanthropic Services. “These two initiatives are aimed at supporting not only immediate needs but also the long-term sustainability of organizations for greater impact.”
