News: Educational Presentation: Impact on Water Quality: Fort Wayne’s Rivers and Lake Erie

Are you interested in learning more about the progress our community is making to improve the water quality of our rivers? We invite you to attend one of two presentations next week to learn from Dr. Christopher Winslow, Interim Director of OSU Stone Labs on “Agriculture’s Link to Lake Erie.”

The presentations will be held:

Tuesday evening, January 17th at Calhoun Street Soups Salads and Spirits starting at 6:30 p.m. with Q&A to follow

and Wednesday morning, January 18th in the Omni Room (located in the Citizens Square building) from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Dr. Winslow will demonstrate how our local streams and tributaries impact the water quality in Lake Erie, and how our very own St. Joseph, St. Marys, and Upper Maumee River Watersheds impact the Western Lake Erie Basin. Additionally, he will be highlighting the “Annex 4” 40% reduction of phosphorous goal in the Maumee Watershed by 2025 and actionable steps. After his 45 minute presentation he will be available to answer questions.

We hope you will join us for this dynamic presentation on the quality of our rivers from a watershed perspective!
