April 21, 2022 – Fort Wayne, IN – Give Greater Allen County on Thursday, April 21, has helped to raise $487,787 for 112 nonprofits. Over 1,700 donors gave to nonprofits participating in Give Greater Allen County to help nonprofits with much-needed funding for their organization. 112 nonprofits had profiles and were displayed on Give Greater Allen County’s Website from 7 AM – 7 PM.
Give Greater Allen County is a one-day, 12-hour initiative that fosters individual philanthropy in Allen County, Indiana and is hosted by the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne (CFGFW).
During Give Greater Allen County, the Community Foundation announced surprise prizes for nonprofits and had matching opportunities. After the day of giving, the Community Foundation celebrated the day by hosting a party at The Landing for the community. At the party, the Community Foundation announced additional prizes for nonprofits and the total amount raised for the day.

“We know that Fort Wayne and Allen County is a generous community, but we had no idea the amount of outpouring we would see on this day of giving. It feels as if the Fort Wayne community is giving all of our nonprofits a big hug,” said Alison Gerardot, Chief Impact Officer. “What a testament to the philanthropy in this community and the impact it has.”
For Give Greater Allen County, $50,000 was raised by the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne in matching and prize dollars thanks to generous sponsors and fundholders at the Community Foundation. For 100 years, the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne has been a public charitable foundation serving Allen County since 1922. The Community Foundation had assets of approximately $183 million at December 31, 2020 and awarded more than $7.9 million in charitable grants and scholarships in that year.
