Jim Griest, Senior Gift Planning Advisor, joined the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne in March 2024. Jim guides donors and their advisors on charitable giving strategies and estate planning. Alongside a donor’s advisor team, Jim can assist on tax, legal, and financial matters related to philanthropy and wealth management.

A Fort Wayne native, Jim has a BS in Accounting from Indiana University in Bloomington and has spent nearly 30 years working for various banks and firms in the wealth and financial space. Jim has been a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) since 2023. This unique credential positions Jim to engage deeply with clients in planning many aspects of their personal finances, including transitioning into successful retirement. Jim currently volunteers as a board member for the Metropolitan YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.

Jim loves spending time with his beautiful wife, four wonderful kids, and eight adored grandchildren. Jim, an avid guitarist and skilled Donald Duck impersonator, thrives on family and outdoor adventures. His hobbies encompass playing music, biking, sailing, kayaking, snow skiing, and mastering DIY home repairs.
