Jo Mejia joined the Community Foundation of Greater Fort Wayne in April 2025 as the Senior Philanthropic Partnership Advisor. In this role, she develops and strengthens relationships with regional professional advisors and other wealth intermediaries, helping facilitate prospective donors’ current, deferred, and testamentary gifts.

Jo holds an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Ivy Tech and a BS in Organizational Leadership from Purdue Fort Wayne. She spent 11 years at Phillips Financial. There, she provided high-level support to the executive leadership team and top-producing advisors. Jo also has experience with the nonprofit Blue Jacket, where she built relationships with local businesses to help individuals facing barriers to employment, including those with criminal backgrounds, secure meaningful jobs and reduce recidivism.

Jo lives in Fort Wayne with her husband of 20 years, JR. Together, they have four children, two grandchildren, and two rescue beagle mixes. In her free time, Jo enjoys a balance of cozy and active—whether traveling for her kids’ sports (the farthest trip was to the Dominican Republic to watch one play ball) or relaxing at home.
