Youth Empowered Philanthropy (YEP)

The YEP program aims to teach local high school students about philanthropy. Over the last two months, YEP students have conducted 15 site visits with local nonprofits, learning about each organization’s mission and needs. Students presented their findings at April’s YEP meeting and proposed how their funding should be distributed.  Witnessing the students passionately advocate for the nonprofits they wish to support is always a highlight of the year, showcasing the depth of their learning and engagement with the program.

And that’s a wrap! On Wednesday, May 8th, YEP concluded its year’s final meeting. Amidst the flurry of finals and AP testing, they took time to reflect on their shared journey, exchanged valuable feedback, and brainstormed improvements for the coming year.

This year, we bid farewell to 12 YEP students who are graduating; we eagerly anticipate our growth and the launch of our next round of student recruitment in August.
